Day 2 – Chaiti, Kai and Raji’s perspectives

It was a dark and cold night but fun, and reached to about a chilling 16 degrees Celsius. Many of us didn’t have a great sleep because of the cold. At about 5:45am, most people started going to the bathroom, creating a massive crowd identical to the traffic of Saigon.
When we arrived at camp, going into the tents felt like walking into an oven. But, at night, our toes were freezing! Quite a unique experience, since this is Vietnam. When we finally woke up we were glad to be alive!
Packing our belongings wa… was… zzzz. Sorry, I fell asleep just thinking about it. We learnt how to fold a sleeping bag yesterday, however I can’t guarantee that we all remembered how to do it, so please, don’t  force us to make our beds at home.
After an ‘interesting’ night at our tents we were more of relieved to move into actual dormitories.  Bunk beds have never been any more comfortable. While some enjoyed the beds for a couple of minutes, some were happy to be united with their luggage.
The day’s activities were absolutely amazing; especially zip lining with an amazing view from the top with a view of ‘Crocodile Lake’. Unfortunately, something happened to someone’s shoe! Altogether with a total of 5 zip lines whilst doing this we saw the true beauty of Madagui and it was truly exhilarating, going about 20 metres per second!
We had quite delicious meals, with noodles and different types of meats and vegetables for both lunch and dinner. However, most people will agree that the buffet breakfast was the real culinary highlight . With the crunchy toast, with a range of toppings we could choose from.  And in the evening, we have just been split into two groups depending on our dorm numbers, one group got to participate in a challenging trivia competition and the other half to enjoy a cosy campfire.
Overall, today was fantastic and we look forward to tomorrow’s adventures.
